Northampton
Situated in the heart of England and well known
for its footwear and leather industries. Offering a compact central shopping
area, there is everything the discerning shopper needs. Popular high street stores
and independent retailers can all be found within easy walking distance. In
the heart of the town centre lies Market Square. The town’s ancient market
dates back 750 years and still takes pride of place in the centre as a
bustling shopping area, boasting one of the largest open air markets in the
country. There are also several district shopping areas nearby.
Offering plenty of scope in both the state
and private sector in and around the town, not forgetting the church
schools. The University College is the largest college of higher education
in the country and is bidding for full university status.
Althorp, the family home of the Spencer
family and where the late Princess of Wales is laid to rest, is well worth a
visit. The town also offers two contrasting theatres, the contemporary Derngate and the beautiful Victorian Royal Theatre. The Roadmender Arts
Venue has recently received a Civic Trust Award for its design and offers
the best in contemporary live music, cutting edge performance theatre and
visual art.
With a population of 200,000, Northampton is
the biggest town in England but still remains the urban centre at the heart
of a rural county. Boasting a high quality of life with a large range of
housing available to suit almost every size pocket and every taste from
family homes to town centre apartments.
Serviced by major road and rail links, with
the M1, M6 and A14 all easily accessible and an ideal mid-England location
with London only an hour away by rail and road. Luton, Birmingham, Stansted
and East Midlands International Airports are all within an hours drive.
