Kettering
A family market town located in rural
Northamptonshire in the centre of England. Boasting the second largest
shopping centre in Northampton offering a full range of convenience and
luxury stores including a variety of national retailers. Markets are held on
Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays with a collectors market every Wednesday.
Offering a good range of schooling from
Nursery to Comprehensive including several independent and special needs
schools.
Featuring a wide variety of leisure
activities including The Masque Theatre, various Parks and marked walks.
There are several historic houses to visit such as Althorp House – the
resting-place of the late Princess Diana and Boughton House the home of the
Dukes of Buccleuch and Queensbury. A short drive away is Rutland Water (the
largest man-made lake in Europe – the size of Lake Windermere). Wicksteed
Park one of the first leisure parks in Britain can also be found.
Offering new and mature homes to suit all
tastes and pockets in Kettering itself and the surrounding area. By 2006 the
Council is planning to build 1700 new homes in both urban and rural
locations which will include executive housing and family homes.
Situated just off of the A14 and close to
major road links including the M6 and M1 and on the London St Pancras
railway line with regular stops at Luton, Leicester, Nottingham and the
North with London an hour away.
